Office 2007, Microsoft’s new software release has a deal for students. Starting this past Wednesday September 12, 2007 until April 30, 2008, Microsoft will be offering Office Ultimate 2007 at a highly discounted price. Office Ultimate 2007 is being sold to college students at a price of $59.95 where the original retail value was $679.

Ultimate, appears to be a crossbreed of Office Home & Student and Office Professional. This hybrid suite offers all programs necessary for any undertaking (whether it is academic or business in nature) and includes:

  • Access 2007
  • Accounting Express 2007 (only in the US version)
  • Excel 2007
  • InfoPath 2007
  • Groove 2007
  • OneNote 2007
  • Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager
  • PowerPoint 2007
  • Publisher 2007
  • Word 2007

In order to be eligible for the steal you must: be a college student, have an e-mail from your academic institution (a .edu e-mail) and be enrolled in a minimum of .5 credits. If at any point in time Microsoft or certified vendor contacts you for proof of enrollment and it cannot be provided you will have to pay the retail price of the package.

The Ultimate Steal is an international promotion and is being offered in Italy, Canada, the UK, France, and Spain. So far the promotion has only been released in Canada, the UK, and the US, however, it should be released in Italy, France, and Spain within the next four days.
