We did a post a while back on where to find cheap alcohol that highlighted how membership clubs like Sam’s Club or Costco can save you a serious buck on your alcohol purchases. Again, I would like to say that binge drinking isn’t just unsafe, but also makes you look like an idiot when you end up passing out in your own mess and waking up the next day to find an anatomy lesson written all over your face. So, for those who like to and legally can enjoy their drinks, here is a smart way to find cheap alcohol.
Alcohol is a rather broad selection of beverages, so this article will focus on specifically finding cheap beer. I’m sure some of you have heard of membership clubs that send samples of a certain type of product every month. These clubs offer products from cookies to BBQ sauce to lobsters, but veering away from crustaceans, let’s talk about Beer of the Month Clubs.
After paying the monthly membership fee, you are sent a certain quantity of premium beer, which is usually between six and twelve bottles. It is highly unlikely that you will receive a case of Bud Light or Natty Ice, as these clubs specialize in micro and foreign brewed beers. When you look at the price of the membership and the number of bottles of beer, it doesn’t seem like they are offering cheap alcohol, however, you are getting access to premium rare beers that would not only be more expensive elsewhere, but very hard to find. Most often these clubs offer a monthly newsletter or magazine, discounts and even free gifts.
There are quite a few beer of the month clubs out there, but one club that we support in particular is the
Clubs of America Beer of the Month Club. They have a premium selection of micro brewed beers from across the country, offer discounts on repurchases, feature a monthly “Beer Expeditions” newsletter with information on micro brews and give a free a $25 gift certificate if you pay for the year upfront. The membership is $31.95 per month (this is including shipping costs) which gives you the twelve bottles of premium micro brewed beer along with all the above goodies. Again, it’s not the cheapest price for beer in general, but it’s the cheapest price you’ll get for high quality beer.
