Promising title I know - I will get to it in a minute. First, a little book report:

If you haven’t heard of it yet, I am honored to be the first to share an amazing book with you: The 4-Hour Workweek by Tim Ferriss. I picked it up about two months ago and have already read through it twice. Since then, I have implemented some of his advice and techniques, all of which has shown tremendous results. His philosophy is centered around automation, mobility and not working for work’s sake.

Some of his techniques include:

  • Outsourcing Your Life: even everyday things like dating (don’t ask me how)
  • Getting Down to the Point: stop reading email, checking voice mail and having meetings
  • Passive Income Generation: getting paid in the shade while someone else manages your business
  • Ultravagabonding: living life like a rock start while traveling on a tiny budget

Having loved the book as much as I did, I created a social network using the Ning.com platform for students who want to employ the 4-Hour Workweek concepts to their college life. My hope is that students will find it to be a great place to share resources, tips and ideas on how to study more effectively (and thereby study less), earn passive income (getting paid in the shade) and how to travel like a king without spending like one. So if you want to learn how to travel around the world while your friends stay in the library and study, join the 4-Hour Workweek for Students social network and learn how to get more done while working less.
